Asia is the most dominant market place in the world. The amount of talent, funds and customers available is jaw dropping, combining it with low production costs and a non-stop working mentality, what you get is the right mix for success.
Hong Kong is located near Shenzhen, and China, meaning that you have a lot of production possibilities. Next to that you have a city of 5 million people enabling you to also reach the rest of China, Singapore and Shanghai. Now, leaving the best for last: 0% VAT, which is just an unmatched competitive advantage.
Marketing wise you have to be careful, even though there are a lot of westerners living and working in the area, the mentality if very different. I was shocked by the fact that the consumers' of Hong Kong goal is to resemble westerners, in the way the dress and act. But, of course, there are also some major differences, that you have to take into account when marketing your product overseas.
To conclude this post, I will not talk about numbers, facts and figures. More than that, the feeling I got while wandering down the streets of Hong Kong is the following: is this the best business Eco-system in the world? The question seems exaggerated, but I invite you to take a trip over there and realize for yourself, they are, without a doubt, the front runners...
